a sweet mysterious mingling

“Thou hast formed us for Thyself and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee” ~ Augustine

In my journey from bondage into freedom,
from struggling so greatly with fear and anxiety and moving into the glorious presence of Him
I am awakening to the reality of what really happened in the Garden and how it truly effects every movement in my life.

We were created for His glory and pleasure; to “enjoy the sweet and mysterious mingling of kindred personalities“. But that union was broken. Adam and Eve’s move to sin is the root, the beginning of all the strongholds in my life.

Why do we run and hide from the thing, the Person, we need and desire most?

In our guilt and fear, we’ve fled as far as possible from His presence.” We’ve moved from the “blissful center” to an “unceasing restlessness“. We were created to live in beauty
and to walk in ease with the God of the universe…and yet we choose the path of restlessness.

We live content to move only into the Holy Place. Into the Light and into the doings of our relationship with Him. But we don’t move into the Holy of Holies. The veil was torn.
Hear that. The veil was torn,
And invitation was given for us to be brought into His Presence.
Yet we stand at the outside. It’s safer there we think. We don’t know what we will find inside this Holy of Holies.

Ransomed men need no longer pause in fear to enter the Holy of Holies. God wills that we should push into His presence and live our whole life there.

He is calling us to live our life in the Holy of Holies. To live our life in His presence.
To move from a place of unending restlessness
to a place of freedom.

I sought the Lord and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him are radiant and their faces shall never be ashamed.
The poor man cried and the Lord heart him and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him
and delivers them.
Psalm 34:4-7

  1. Fear is attacking in epidemic proportions. It is the very thing Jesus came to conquer, so that we may please our Father with our faith. Continue to fight the good fight of faith. Fear is already defeated. Let’s please God together by fearlessly facing fear and saying, “No more!”
