a little holiday stitching

Just like many people, I hate this time of year walking through the stores. I’m either shielding my kids from the gruesome Halloween costumes (do we really need to have a costume with a guy with a knife through his head?) or I’m shaking my head at the rows of Christmas decorations already out. That said, it’s time to start thinking about holiday gift giving; especially if you are planning on giving some handmade gifts.

Last year I introduced this embroidery based on the passage from Luke 2.

And while the finished embroidery is in the shop again (and 10% off with free shipping until the end of October!) I am also offering a full color .pdf of the pattern AND and embroidery kit. The embroidery pattern is page after page of instruction from start to finish. The embroidery kit arrives at your door with everything you need to get started: from the hoop to the floss.

And here is a sneak peek at the holiday embroidery I’m working on this year:

A tree full of scrolls to be finished off with vintage buttons sewn on as the ornaments and a lovely “Merry Christmas” stitch across the bottom.
