Why do I believe more in entitlement than in God coming through as He promises?
Entitlement, according to Websters, means: The fact of having a right to something
A Promise means: A declaration or assurance that one will do a particular thing or that guarantees that a particular thing will happen.
When I feel entitled to something, there is no assurance it will happen; there is only the sense that it should. When I’m living with the belief that I am entitled to something, I am not living in truth. I am living with a false expectation that the tree of life was planted for me to eat and enjoy; irregardless of the promise given.
When I am living with trust, with the knowledge of the promise of God, I am living with assurance.
The Lord isn’t slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you… 2 Peter 2:9
For the Lord your God will bless you as he promised you… Deut. 15:6
We are sealed with the promised Holy Spirit… Eph 2:13
He has promised to make His dwelling among us and walk among us and be our God and we will be His people.
We are entitled to nothing but death, but He instead promises us life.
He promises us the ability to be alive, not just to simply live.
