A Time to Talk

When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don’t stand still and look around
On all the hills I haven’t hoed,
And shout from where I am, What is it?
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit.

~ Robert Frost

I am aiming to be more intentional and real this year.
I want to make goals, but also not stress when those goals are not met to completion or the way I had intended.
I am seeking to reduce my footprint in this virtual world for a while and stamp my foot greater in the real world
by focusing on my family, close friends and those others that God sees fit to place in my path.
I am longing to “thrust my hoe in the mellow ground”, let go the thing I had on my agenda,
and head “up to the stone wall for a friendly visit”.
Here’s to making 2010 a year to remember and a year of deepening relationships.
